The sectarian crisis in the village of Dahshur escalated on August 1 after the burial of the Muslim man who died yesterday in hospital. Hundreds of Muslims torched and looted Coptic businesses and homes despite hundreds of security forces being deployed in the village. Eyewitnesses reported that security forces did not protect most Coptic property — only the small church of St. George was protected, in addition to some Coptic houses in its neighborhood.

“As 120 families had already fled the village the day before after being terrorized, the businesses and homes were an easy game for the mob to make a complete clean-up of everything that could be looted,” said Coptic activist Wagih Jacob. “The security forces were at the scene of the crime while it was taking place and did nothing at all.”

Among those who have fled into neighboring Lebanon are Christians from the town of Qusair, just across the border in war-ravaged Homs province. They say they were tired of threats and public taunts of being “unbelievers” and “dogs of Assad.”

Mindful of the persecution of Christians and the rise of Islamist extremists in neighboring Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein, a secular autocrat like Assad, some Christians here fear that their community will become a similar target, especially as the conflict engulfs Syria’s two major cities, Aleppo and Damascus, each with large Christian populations. The cities were relatively insulated from the rebellion until fierce fighting broke out last month.

While Americans, collectively, may not be at war with Islam (yet), Islam is absolutely at war with America and every other non-Muslim nation. This has been the case since before Thomas Jefferson and the war against the Barbary Coast pirates. Islam acknowledges nothing but brute force, for theirs is a brutish culture. There can be no definitive peace between a civilized nation and barbarism, no matter what region of the world and whether Muslim dominated or not. Regardless of the U.S. govt admitting to a war between Islam and the West, the American people themselves have to face this fact, for it is them which Islam seeks to ultimately dominate, not meeting places and empty halls. Islam is a system of subjugation and people are subjugated, not inanimate objects. Americans will either wake up to the war being waged upon them by 7th Century pagans or face annihilation by their enemy of over1300 years.

To Assad, your reply is intriguing. I know that Muslims are killed by Muslims in places like Afghanistan, Iraq and a few other Islamic states. They were killed because they are ‘cultural muslims’ ie. they do not follow the Koran/Sunna closely like their killers. Their murders are indeed appalling but it is in accordance with the Koran and Sunna.

But Christians are butchered by Muslims for simply being Christians. This is also in accordance to Islamic scriptures the Koran and Sunna. Site examples where Christians kill Muslims. Muslims have been waging jihad against all infidels from the 7th C. You will not stop until you conquer the world. This is a duty of every Muslim. Read your own scriptures!

Frank, you’re delusional and seem to be afraid of your own shadow. Obama as the Mahdi – pathetic. People have been attributing such apocalyptic tone and roles to leaders across centuries. I’m not an Obama supporter in that I think he’s merely the latest in a line of flawed politicians. However, suggesting he’s the Mahdi is a joke. Obama isn’t the first world leader to seek some level of cooperation with people of other religious faiths. Hell, G. W. Bush even gave nods to the muslim faith.

As far as your statement goes that “the evil ones (will) anoint Obama as their Party Leader” – man, get over your little fantasies and religious delirium. History is littered with the bodies slain in the name of both religions.

Dr. Bill Your contributions are highly honored. You are a scholar of religious studies. Do you think that only non Muslims are oppressed in this world on the basis of their faith? What is your opinion about the atrocities, violence and killing of Muslims only because they are Muslims?
And remember when a Muslim is killed in Egypt or Pakistan. It has many reasons. It could be either personal revenge, it could be political, tribal enmity. It could be an act of robbers or a love affair. Similarly when a christen is killed it could have 101 reasons. A Muslim can kill a non-muslim on personal reason it is not Isalm which orders killing.
And what about the Muslims who are being killed in millions by the non Muslims. Why don’t you report the things in Israel? What happened in Iraq, Afghanistan, Burma, and Kashmir? Your studies would not be called as rational, and would be called as biased unless you present a comparative picture of all the faiths and all the religions.
Hope you can reply my questions

    Thanks
    God Bless You

Thank you for keeping the public abreast of Christian persecution. I cringe and dispair at the fact that President Obama and the Democratic Party invited Muslims to celebrate their election of Obama to a second term in office.

I read somewhere that we, the sheep, should be guarded against the “wolf” who comes in sheep’s clothing to devour the flock. I am convinced that that wolf is none other than Obama. He is the “son” of the great deceiver just has Muhammad was the son of Satan. Perhaps Obama is the Mahdi. I wonder if we will see the Black Flag flying at the DNC next week as the evil ones anoint Obama as their Party Leader.
