Jewish groups have denounced a cartoon by a prize-winning political cartoonist as anti-Semitic.  Pat Oliphant's cartoon, published Wednesday, shows a headless figure chasing while pushing a large Star of David with fangs and pursuing a tiny woman carrying a child labeled “Gaza.” The syndicated cartoon appeared in newspapers around the world.  The Simon Wiesenthal Center said in a statement: “The imagery in this cartoon mimics the venomous anti-Semitic propaganda of the Nazi and Soviet eras. It is cartoons like this that inspired millions of people to hate in the 1930s and help set the stage for the Nazi genocide.”

Ari Roth of the Washington DC Jewish Community Center made the decision to stage a reading of the anti-Semitic play "Seven Jewish Children: A Play for Gaza".  Originally produced in London, it describes how the Jewish parents discuss teaching their children about the Jewish state and the Gaza war. For example, one portion deals with living in Israel. The parent says: "Tell her, of course tell her, tell her everyone was driven out and the country is waiting for us to come home. Don't tell her she doesn't belong here."

A Canadian Jewish group is asking the government to consider barring two Palestinian clerics from speaking in April.  The two clerics have publicly supported suicide bombings, questioned the Holocaust and preached hatred against Jews.

A swastika was painted on the door of a fraternity house at the University of Florida.  Fraternity member Alex Mehler told the Gainsville Sun that the vandalism was "a blatant act of anti-Semitism" and said many members of the fraternity were "distraught." He said the Florida AEPi chapter has been working on building the house for three years and plans to move into the facility at the beginning of the next school year.

Eight police officers were charged in conneciton with an attack at the Jewish synagogue in Caracas, Venezuela.  In January, the synagogue was vandalized, religious objects desecrated, anti-Semitic statements were painted on the walls, and records with the names and addresses of local Jews were stolen.

The Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions will not renew dialogue with French Muslim groups that equated Operation Cast Lead in Gaza with the Holocaust, said the group's vice president, Meyer Habib.  During Operation Cast Lead, some Muslim organizers of pro-Palestinian demonstrations equated Israel's actions with the Nazi Holocaust, and even carried banners that read "death to Jews."

From jail, a Muslim cleric is continuing to issue fatwas, anti-Semitic statements, and incite violence, according to counter-extremism organization The Quilliam Foundation.  One of the cleric's statements were, "I congratulate the mujahideen and the people of Gaza, and may Allah have mercy on the martyrs and make us follow them, and may Allah curse the Jews and the rulers of apostasy and the crusaders -- amen, amen."
